What to Expect During Your Full-Body Skin Exam

Our skin checks are thorough but comfortable, typically lasting 15–30 minutes. You’ll meet with one of our licensed providers in a private room, where we’ll check your skin from head to toe, including:

• Scalp, ears, face, neck

• Back, chest, arms, legs

• Hands, feet, nails, and soles

• Genital area (only if requested or relevant)

We’ll explain everything we’re seeing, and biopsy anything that looks concerning right in the office if needed—no hospital trip required.

📅 Pro tip: Most people should get a skin check once a year. If you’ve had skin cancer before or have many moles, you may need more frequent visits.

You’re considered higher risk if you:

• Have fair skin or burn easily

• Have a family or personal history of skin cancer

• Use tanning beds or had lots of sun exposure growing up

• Have 50+ moles or any atypical-looking spots

• Are immunocompromised or over 50
